This become an issue when you go to the beach at 6 a.m. and you can´t walk 2 steps without bending again to pick up one more plastic.
This is what happened in our new home
Matabungkay- Filipinas
There was plastic bottles of every sizes, glasses, bags over the whole beach and of course thousands of mascks and face shields.
My daughters wanted to continue and complained because I can´t stop to pick up one more glass, one more bag…
Because of this we named this project
#AWalkWithoutPlastic
Our goal is to enjor a clean beach where you don´t need to bend to pick up plastic. You just enjoy the sea as it is
WHITOUT PLASTIC
But this is just the beginning, the project goes much further looking for a long term solution for this Filipino Communities, their whealth and their future.
THE POWER OF THE EXAMPLE
We were really surprised when we realized that in just a few days , the community changes their behavior so drasticly.
Only 4 days were needed to demonstrate the old words of the Master of the Masters: Einstein and that jus setting the example is the best way to create changes, much better than obligations, rules or fines.

Day #1:
!Let´s Go!
First step is always the most important as without it there is no second.
In Matabungkay Beach, the reality is not the same than in big cities.
Here there is no garbage collection, so imagine the far idea about recycling.
Also this humble communities have other priorities than the cleanliness of the beach, as to ensure something to cook for dinner.
This create a dangerous mix in these areas, as each neighbor ends burning their own garbage (plastics included) in the doors of their homes.
So when I collect plastics from the beach, much of the time we end breathing it, so it´s even worst.
Launching the Challenge
How can we clean the beach from all this plastic and also avoid to burn it?

I´m in shock, this is a really big step. Pleople is talking about us and about what we are doing.
Main Goals of The Project

Day #2:
Involving the community
My new neighbors think I´m crazy or something, but they talk to me and ask me -What are you doing? So I can tell them and give ideas to collaborate and clean up.

But there is much more. The restaurants are holding new advertisements to maintain cleanliness and they tell me:
!!We´ll clean after breakfast!!
Day #3:
Step by Step
They listen and ask me what to do.
The same restaurant put some garbage bags so people have a place where to dispose it.

The behavior change has started
Some men are cleaning an area of the beach full of garbage.
This is a great change already
Day #4: !WE DID IT!
!!EVERYBODY IS CLEANING!!
!This is really amazing!
All the community is now engaged cleaning the beach.
!Only 4 days to create the big change!
Not all this plastic and garbage is coming of these people, nor the tourist on weekends.
Most of the plastics come from the sea, bringing the waste from The Most Contaminated river in the Whole World.

This is just the begining
The next morning the beach was full of plastics again, as it brings exactly what we give to it.
We search for long term solutions.
Plastic in the beaches and Oceans can be a great raw material if we treat it in other way.
Giving a second life to this plastic we can also save many natural resources to be explode.
We are now focus to find the way to create wealth in this community, while we clean our world from all the garbage that shouldn´t be there.

They take the drawings form Precious Plastic and create the machines to shredder, melt and mold the plastics.
Which is grate becase even it´s possible I don´t think I could do it properly.
